Star Sapphire Ear Studs

Star sapphires are the birthstones for September. They are sapphires which display a phenomenon called asterism, causing a 6 pointed star to appear when a direct light source is present. this is caused by rutile needles growing in the crystal when the sapphire was formed.

These 6mm cabochon star sapphires are set in 9ct gold and oxidized silver, with silver posts and pushons.
